Deceive Inc. Out Now, Launch Trailer Puts Spotlight on Tripwire's Extraction Shooter

Developer Sweet Bandits Studios and Publisher Tripwire Presents announced that DECEIVE INC., the highly-anticipated multiplayer FPS title that blends stealth and spycraft elements with intense action, launches this week with cross-play support on PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), the PlayStation 5 computer entertainment system, and Xbox Series X|S console system.

DECEIVE INC. deploys players into the world of high-stakes subterfuge, working for a private corporation with a complete monopoly over the international espionage market. Disguise yourself as anyone you meet in an instant, access state-of-the-art gadgets the rest of the world can only dream of, and possess skills that would make Hollywood super spies jealous. But you are not alone. Rival spies are after the same objective and every single one of them is as skilled, cunning, and well-equipped as you are. Blend in, alone or with your team, grab the objective, and break out. In the end, only the right actions and skills will get you that paycheck.
"When I joined the team, DECEIVE INC. had already been living in the heads of a dozen developers," said Carole-Ann Perron, Producer at Sweet Bandits Studios. "To be honest, I was glad to join a team unbothered by their ego and determined to create a unique gameplay experience. With Tripwire Presents to back us up, we were able to create something I truly believe is special. The spies, the maps, the gadgets, the music, there's a unique vibe to DECEIVE INC. that makes you want to click play again!"

"When we first showed DECEIVE INC. to attendees at Gamescom, PAX, and EGX, it was so rewarding to see new players go from curious to fans in no time," said Brian Etheridge, Publishing Director at Tripwire Presents. "They would come out of the demo so excited, asking questions, and giving us their feedback. The team at Sweet Bandits Studios have been one of the most proactive and receptive developers we've ever worked with in terms of letting the players help drive development and we look forward to seeing players dive into the world of DECEIVE INC. today!
The standard edition of DECEIVE INC. has an MSRP of $19.99 USD, €19.99 EUR, and £16.99 GBP with an ESRB: T for Teen and PEGI 16 rating. Aspiring agents can also purchase the DECEIVE INC. Black Tie Edition for an MSRP of $29.99 USD, €29.99 EUR, and £24.99 GBP to receive a ton of cool extras, including the "Dressed to Impress" Profile Portrait, Title, and Equipment Ink with an additional 1,000 Bonds (in-game premium currency).

Am I the only one 'off-put' by the art style?
Just doesn't look quite right, and the screenshots make all characters look oddly short...

(edit) It gets stranger:

I wouldn't have expected 3 Canadian dudes to make a game in this art style.
Perhaps, they didn't? The above pic and any pics of the dev team seem to have been pulled from their site. Outsourced, maybe?
Though, their previous game looks just as weird. -Must just be the style taught in 'art school' these days.

Gonna go with a hard no, with a side of disinterest.

I was intrigued by the premise but am now gonna buy just to spite @LabRat 891’s seemingly unfounded biases

Go for it!
Regardless of my opinion on the devs/devs' art direction, I actually like TripWire (the publisher).
You can give them money in my stead. Perhaps, that'll make up for all the KF2 items I never purchased

I think the artstyle is not really the issue, (reminds me a lot of Battlefield Heroes), but just that it all looks so low-end, unrefined.
If they added a lot of detail in the animation etc then it could divinity be appealing.

But as is....yeah it does not grab me either.

I'm going to agree, but with different motivations. Steam and Epic, but no GOG?!? Eff those morons...

... and gee golly darn, what a shocker..

I was thinking a cross between Battalion Wars and No One Lives Forever.

It looks good. The art style is cartoony but fun and it looks like it's reasonably put together. However, it seems like this dev team doesn't completely understand their audience or they'd make the effort to sell their game on ALL platforms, not just mother-goose and the whale.

I swear I've seen three or four new "extraction shooters" this past week. Devs are jumping on this bandwagon almost as hard as they jumped on the battle royale bandwagon.

Wut?
There's a negative stereotype that Canadians are short? New to me, and added to inventory :D

Not that I’m aware of, just thought it was odd that you implied that Canadians wouldn’t use an animation style that made characters look short :)

And no, despite what lex might think, I don’t think your opinion is anti-Canadian or heightism, just really strange because why wouldn’t they? :)

Reminds me of fortenite. Otherwise 'the sims' but with guns and spy missions.

Not interested in this at all. I am a fan of tripwire though
