This Week in Gaming (Week 52)

As we enter the last week of the year, as well as the Christmas and New Years period, we also have the slowest week of new game releases of the entire year. That said, there are still some new games being released, whether they're worth your Christmas money or not, is an entirely different story. Here's looking forward to many new, great game releases in 2024.

Sealed Gate / Monday 25 December
Sealed Gate is a medieval fantasy game where players are immersed in a huge and interesting world full of dangers and mysteries. The game has various systems such as combat system, crafting, professions, magic system, resource extraction system and much more. The combat system is based on dynamic real-time battles where players can choose between different fighting styles using weapons and magic in combination with each other. Crafting allows players to create various items using resources found during the exploration of the world, such as weapons, armor and tools.
A Spider to A Fly / Tuesday 26 December

T-night / Wednesday 27 December
In one of the remote cities, there are benefits for young families to move. The newly minted family decided to try their luck and moved there in the hope of their happiness. They did not even anticipate what conditions would need to be fulfilled in order to stay in this city and whether it was possible to fulfill these conditions in essence
Beer Run / Thursday 28 December
Beer Run is an Indie game created to steal beers from supermarkets. Three guys with a plan to steal more beer after running out, they go into multiple grocery stores to rob beer. Security guards are the enemy while the characters intend to rob from a store. As you progress throughout the game, each level gets harder by improving their security system. Multiple security guards in certain levels that make it tough to steal without being caught. As you collect more beers the character starts to slow down from all the weight being carried, creating another challenge besides evading the security.
Lost in Nowhere / Friday 29 December
Dive into the oppressive atmosphere of Lost in Nowhere, an intense blend of Action, Adventure, and Horror. Your mission: Solve three puzzles to escape a complex labyrinth. But beware, dangers lurk in the darkness... Creatures prowl in the shadows and will chase after you. Collect weapons and ammunition, and use them wisely. If you run out of ammunition, solving the puzzles and surviving become nearly impossible.

On the subject of gaming, anyone see the Labour of Love steam awards??

Personally, I think games only older than 7 years should be on there.

the steam awards are pretty stupid in general, but thats what you get with the lowest common denominator.

and your suggestion, idk, 7 years of support, so if a game is supported for 6 with awesome free content it would not deserve a rewards?
I think 6 years after release still coming up with expanding content is quite a commitment.

now 2 years of support, that is borderline just the norm so that would be a cut off point imo

I don't know there has been no DLC for BG3 but that Game has given us so much. It is like they took a D&D trilogy(s) and wrote it into a Game. It actually deserves all of the praise it receives.

It was hilarious when Colossal Order (Cities Skylines 2) asked players to vote for it.

Sealed Gate looks sorta cool.
