This Week in Gaming (Week 9)

As we enter the end of the month of February and transition into March, we have a somewhat slower week, with a pair of remakes of a couple of classics being the headline titles and both are released on the same day. The rest of the games this coming week consists of a rather bizarre mix between a beat 'em up and tower defence game, a bunch of Greek things, a slightly different take on the zombie game genre and finally a rather good side scroller on an alien planet. In other words, no big releases, but hopefully something interesting nonetheless.

STAR WARS: Dark Forces Remaster / This week's first remake / Wednesday 28 February
The evil Empire is currently creating a doomsday army behind a veil of secrecy. However, they are no match for the Rebel Alliance's covert operations division. Your mission is to infiltrate the Empire and put an end to their plans for terror and domination.
Pull Stay / Monday 26 February
Pull Stay is a wacky Beat 'em up game with Tower Defense mechanics. Use your fists or set crazy traps to repel enemies from rushing into your house! As a guardian robot, defend your buddy Susumu who has been a shut-in for years!
Builders of Greece / Tuesday 27 February
Immerse yourself in the beautifully recreated golden age of Hellenic city-states. Builders of Greece is a city management game that lets you display your strategic and economic mastery. Build your Polis from scratch, make meaningful decisions, trade, fight and expand to become the ultimate ruler.
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake / This week's second remake / Wednesday 28 February
Guide two brothers on an epic journey of discovery, loss, adventure and mystery remade for the latest generation of graphics, performance, and gameplay. Play in single-player mode or local co-op with a friend. This is one journey you will never forget.
Welcome to ParadiZe / Thursday 29 February
Paradise isn't exactly what you hoped for: it's infested with zombies! Thankfully, you can control them. Capture them and teach them to farm or fight. They will help you defend our camp while you explore the world looking for… a new paradise.
The Mobius Machine / Friday 1 March
Discover a vast alien world. Fight the ferocious local fauna and killer machines. Reveal its secrets and find a way to escape. The Mobius Machine is a side-scroller action adventure, with an emphasis on free-form exploration and intense combat.

Mobius Machine looks like a blast!
And Pull Stay looks hilarious in Goat Simulator type of way.

Builders of EgyptGreece - another lackluster city builder with regurgitated hype, its the exact same trailer for Age of Empires (television commercial) just with a different name inserted.
Paradize - should be somewhat interesting, wonder what game they stole the zombies from.

I'm still hoping that remakes of Kotor 1 and 2 will surface someday.

For some reason, it sort of reminds me of blaster master from the NES.

Ok, tried the demo of Pull Stay. It has this cheap Unity crap feel. Movement is wooden AF. I beat level taking literally no damage somehow, not sure, what enemies are doing. The gimmick IS funny, but wears down given the above.

I guess it will end up given away for free at IndieGala later.

If you want a silly beat 'em up, Stick it to the Stickman looks and plays waaaaay better, though it does wear its charm down a bit over time to me, when I tried that demo.

I meant Greece. :D

Builders of Egypt was a game too, that became vaporware. BoGreece is almost the exact same game just different locations

EDIT:After looking the devs behind the two games they are the same studios, so its safe to expect BoGreece will become Vaporware as well.

This looks bad-ass! :rockout: And it seems to be coming to GOG as well!

Builders of Greece looks nice. The Mobius Machine reminds me of '90s platformers that I used to love. Both added to my wishlist, together with SW: DF Remaster.

The only interesting thing about Pull Stay is its creator, who is a (ex?) hikikomori.

If only we had a proper comeback of LucasArts will full financial backing of Disney and creative freedom at the same time. Current Lucasfilm Games exists solely for setting up licensing agreements.

So I guess this game is a bit of "story of my life" for him lol.

We need KOTOR 1/2 and DeusEx 1/2 remasters ASAP!! Or maybe just rebuilds using the same voices and music like System Shock 1.

This would take many years. Just play KOTOR 2 with TSLRCM enabled.

Geeze;

Can we just have the original Deus-Ex (1999) and Star Wars: The Knights of the Old Republic I & 2 re-makes already?

I would love an Unreal 1 redux too, not just a remaster. Together with DeusEx, those 2 are still the best games ever made.
From atmosphere to gameplay, from story to perfect soundtrack, there is basically no flaw to those 2...

SN2716057Oh, Star Quake Wars!
That would be Dark Forces 2! Also a great game!
