ATI's M97 GPU uses the TeraScale architecture and is made using a 40 nm production process at TSMC. With a die size of 137 mm² and a transistor count of 826 million it is a small chip. M97 supports DirectX 10.1 (Feature Level 10_1). For GPU compute applications, OpenCL version 1.1 can be used. It features 640 shading units, 32 texture mapping units and 16 ROPs.
