AMD on Monday released the latest version of the Radeon Software Adrenalin drivers. Version 20.10.1 beta comes with optimization for the Windows 11 operating system. Game-specific optimizations include "Far Cry 6," where it posts 10% performance gains over the previous driver; "Battlefield 2042 Open Beta," "Naraka: Bladepoint," and a 12% performance uplift for "Player Unknown's Battlegrounds" with DirectX 12 at 4K with Ultra settings.

Among the issues fixed include rare driver timeouts noticed on "Horizon Zero Dawn" and "The Medium" on RX 6000 series graphics cards such as the RX 6700 XT, and when gaming+streaming on RX 500 series cards. An issue with high idle memory clocks on multi-monitor setups has been fixed. Incorrect power reporting by Radeon Software at full load, has been fixed. AMD today released the latest version of Radeon Software Adrenalin. Version 21.8.2 beta comes with optimization for "Myst," with up to 6% performance improvement seen at 4K medium settings on a machine powered by a Radeon RX 6800 XT, compared to the previous 21.8.1 drivers. The drivers also feature optimization for "Aliens: Fireteam Elite."

The drivers also fix a handful of issues. Difficulties ending an OBS recording session with h.265 or HEVC codec on some of the newer Radeon GPUs, such as the RX 6800 XT, have been fixed. An image corruption bug with split-screen multiplayer on "F1 2021," has been fixed. Unresponsive behavior with Radeon Software in rare cases, has been fixed. Lighting corruption noticed in "Control" with DirectX 12 on cards such as the RX 6600 XT, has been fixed. CPU-Z, the software of choice for monitoring the CPU and its attributes, has yesterday been updated to version 1.97, which brings much-needed and interesting features. For starters, the new version adds support to detect Intel Core i9-12900K, Core i7-12700K, and Core i5-12600K "Alder Lake" CPUs and the Intel Z6xx chipset platform. Those specific SKUs are the top of the line in their respective categories, and it is only logical that support for the new generation starts there.

Next up, the software now supports detection of the latest DDR5 DRAM technology, which can now also be detected along with the new XMP 3.0 profile format. Last but not least, the software is adding detection for AMD's Radeon RX 6600 XT GPU as well.

Dataland, a subsidiary of TUL (holders of the more mainstream PowerColor brand), has introduced its interpretation of the Navi 23 silicon powering the Radeon Rx 6600 XT. While the X-Series nomenclature wasn't thought in terms of how well it rolls off the tongue, this model usually sits on the high-end spectrum of Dataland's solutions for each GPU. The Dataland Radeon RX 6600 XT X-Series features a common (for the Rx 6600 XT) dual-fan, dual-slot cooling solution that should me more than adequate in cooling down the Navi 23 chip.

A slight factory overclock should provide meager performance benefits compared to AMD's base specifications, considering there's only a 2.9% (2428 MHz) game clock and a (0.7%) 2607 MHz boost clock overclock on the Navi 23 chip at its heart. I/O is taken care of by the usual 3x DisplayPort and 1x HDMI connectors. Dataland unfortunately only sells its graphics cards directly on the Chinese market, so unless you have an extremely specific craving for this particular graphics' card design, you'll have to find other ways to make it reach your doorstep.

TechPowerUp today released the latest version of TechPowerUp GPU-Z, the popular graphics subsystem, information, monitoring, and diagnostic utility. The latest Version 2.41.0 comes with support for the Windows 11 operating system (ongoing pre-release builds), including the ability to tell if the graphics driver conforms to WDDM 3.0 standard. Support is also added for current and upcoming GPUs, including Radeon RX 6600 XT, Radeon PRO W6800, W6600; NVIDIA CMP 90HX, 50HX, 40HX, 30H; and RTX 3050 Laptop GPUs based on GA107-B.

TechPowerUp GPU-Z v2.41.0 also improves on several fronts. We've improved the TMU count estimation algorithm for unknown (upcoming) NVIDIA GPUs, as well as clock speed detection on AMD RDNA2-based Radeon PRO GPUs. The GPU-Z installer now adds version number of the installed GPU-Z to the Control Panel Add/Remove Programs list, to better work with Winget, the new Microsoft package manager. PowerColor debuted its Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics card series with the RX 6600 XT Red Devil and RX 6600 XT Hellhound custom-design graphics cards. The lineup will be joined by additional models from the Fighter and Red Dragon series in the future. For now, the RX 6600 XT Red Devil is a beefy, triple-slot card that's about two-thirds the length of larger, triple-fan Red Devil products from the company. This one features a dual-fan setup, but the styling is consistent, including the air-dams near the tail-end that light up. The card features a compound aluminium fin-stack heatsink with at least two fin-stacks skewered by a common set of heat pipes.

The Red Devil features the company's highest factory OC tier for this GPU, a meaty 12-phase VRM, and goodies that include dual-BIOS, addressable-RGB headers, etc. It draws power from a combination of 8-pin and 6-pin PCIe power connectors. The Hellhound, on the other hand, features a more compact dual-slot design, with a lighter heatsink that uses three heatpipes ventilated by a pair of 80 mm fans that light up. There's no dual-BIOS, but you can toggle the blue LED off with a physical switch. The card draws power from a single 8-pin PCIe power connector. The company didn't reveal clock speeds or pricing.

ASRock today debuted its Radeon RX 6600 XT custom-design graphics card lineup. This includes the RX 6600 XT Challenger PRO, and the RX 6600 XT Challenger ITX. The Challenger PRO is a conventional-size graphics card that uses a dual-slot, triple-fan cooling solution. Its cooler is a lot longer than its PCB, so all of the airflow from the third fan flows through the card, and out the back-plate. The card draws power from a single 8-pin PCIe power connector, and features a mid-tier factory OC. The company is probably saving up its highest OC tier for a Phantom Gaming product. Next up, is the Challenger ITX, a compact card with roughly 17 cm board length, and a dense aluminium fin-stack heatsink that relies on a single fan for cooling. The company will disclose clock speeds around mid-August.

Sapphire introduced a nifty lineup of new AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics cards, with the value-ended RX 6600 XT Pulse, and the premium RX 6600 XT NITRO+. Both are strictly two slots-thick designs that are compact, and use dual-fan cooling solutions. The NITRO+ features a higher factory OC, a heavier heatsink, and premium bits that include wave-edged aluminium fins in the cooler, fans with webbed impellers, dual-BIOS, a silvery metal backplate, an addressable-RGB LED illuminated Sapphire logo, and a 3-pin ARGB header so you can sync your lighting to the card's.

The RX 6600 XT Pulse, on the other hand, features a simpler design without the shiny dual-tone finish of the NITRO+. There are no illuminated logos, additional RGB headers, or dual-BIOS to be had. You still get a similar combination of wave-edge fin-stack, and webbed impellers, as well as a metal back-plate. The card has a lower state of factory OC than the NITRO+, and is expected to be priced closer to the baseline price. The company didn't reveal engine game/boost frequencies of either cards, but both feature 16 Gbps GDDR6 memory, and take in power from single 8-pin PCIe power connectors.

XFX released a trio of custom-design Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics cards. These include the RX 6600 XT Speedster SWFT210 Core, the RX 6600 XT Speedster QICK308 Black, and the range-topping RX 6600 XT Speedster MERC308 Black. The Speedster SWFT210 is the entry-level, with its compact dimensions, 2-slot thickness, a single 8-pin PCIe power input, and a cooling solution that uses two fans, and the lightest heatsink in the series. This card is likely to come with a mild factory-OC that's close to reference.

The Speedster QICK308 and the Speedster MERC308 have identical dimensions, with their lengthy triple-fan cooling solutions, except the QICK308 comes with slightly lower clock speeds than the MERC308, and does away with an illuminated nameplate along the top of the card (which only goes on to improve the airflow). The MERC308 comes with this nameplate, chrome accents along the fan intakes and other parts of the cooler shroud, and the highest factory-OC. XFX hasn't disclosed the GPU game/boost frequencies for either of the three cards.

AMD today announced the new Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics card, its latest entrant to the RX 6000 series, based on the RDNA2 graphics architecture, with full DirectX 12 Ultimate support, including raytracing. The RX 6600 XT is suitable for AAA gaming at 1080p, or e-sports gaming at 1440p. The card debuts the new 7 nm Navi 23 silicon to the desktop, and maxes it out. It is endowed with 2,048 stream processors across 32 RDNA2 compute units, 128 TMUs, 32 ROPs, and a 128-bit wide memory interface, holding 8 GB of GDDR6 memory running at 16 Gbps (256 GB/s bandwidth). The chip also has 32 MB of Infinity Cache memory. With a board power of 160 W, the card can make do with a single 8-pin PCIe power connector. The game clocks are up to 2359 MHz.

As for performance, AMD claims that the RX 6600 XT offers a 2.2-2.5 times performance gain over the GeForce GTX 1060, providing a viable upgrade. It also offers a 40% performance uplift over the previous-generation RX 5600 XT, and runs consistently faster than the RX 5700, perhaps even trading blows with the RX 5700 XT. In the current generation, AMD claims a 15% performance lead over the GeForce RTX 3060 on average, with both cards having Resizable BAR / Smart Access Memory enabled, at 1080p. Available from August 10, the card starts at USD $379, and is a partner-exclusive, meaning that only custom-design cards will be available, the company will not sell reference design ones.

The AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT is expected to launch on August 11th while the RX 6600 appears set for a release in September/October. The pricing for these cards was predicted to be under 400 USD and according to a recent report from Neowin that would appear to be the case. The report claims that the Radeon RX 6600 XT will come with an MSRP of 349 USD and the Radeon RX 6600 at 299 USD. These prices have not been confirmed but if they are true it would position the RX 6600 XT above the RTX 3060 at 329 USD. The Radeon RX 6600 XT is expected to offer superior raster performance to the RTX 3060 but will come with less video memory and have worse raytracing. These prices are only suggestions and other sources put the retail price for the RX 6600 XT at 588 USD or higher in Europe.

On the road to its rumored August market availability, AMD could unveil its Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics card on July 30, at the ChinaJoy expo. The RX 6600 XT is a middle-of-the-market product that AMD likely expects to sell in heaps, in markets such as China. It competes with NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 3060 series. According to VideoCardz, the RX 6600 XT could see a July 30 unveiling, which usually comes with some teasers as to what buyers can expect from the card; followed by an August 6 unboxing embargo. The card launches on August 11. The RX 6600 (non-XT) is expected to launch later, in September. The RX 6600 XT is based on the 7 nm "Navi 23" silicon, and is rumored to feature 2,048 stream processors across 32 RDNA2 compute units. It also comes with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory across a 128-bit wide memory bus, and 32 MB of on-die Infinity Cache memory. AMD is likely targeting the 1080p AAA and 1440p e-sports crowds with this card.

The AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT and RX 6600 are two upcoming mid-range graphics cards that appear set to launch on August 11th. The Radeon RX 6600 XT is expected to feature all 2048 Stream Processors of the Navi 23 GPU and will be paired with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory. The Radeon RX 6600 will feature the same Navi 23 GPU but with 1792 Stream Processors and will be paired with 4 GB or 8 GB of memory. The Navi 23 GPU is already present in the mobile RX 6600M and the workstation Radeon Pro W6600 which should give an indication of potential performance. We have limited information for the MSRP of the two cards but they will likely come in under 400 USD however final retail prices are unknown. The August 11th date is specifically stated to be the launch day so we will likely see an announcement in the coming weeks.

Update Jul 22nd: We have received an update from YouTuber Coreteks who claims that only the RX 6600 XT will launch on August 11th and that the RX 6600 has been delayed until September or October.

Pictures of a made-by-AMD (MBA) Radeon RX 6600 XT OEM graphics card hit the web. This particular card has all the signs of an MBA card, including the AMD logo near the PCIe fingers, and barcode stickers of the font used by PC Partner, the OEM that makes MBA cards. This isn't necessarily the reference card whose renders are floating on the web, but one that AMD supplies to pre-built desktop manufacturers.

The compact card appears roughly 18-20 cm in length, is dual-slot, and uses a single 8-pin PCIe power input. Its cooling solution uses an aluminium mono-block heatsink that's ventilated by a pair of 80 mm fans. The person with access to this sample put out performance numbers from the internal benchmark of a game popular in China, called Ludashi, as well as how it compares to other graphics cards in this test. The results are interesting. The RX 6600 XT apparently beats or matches the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, which means it should have a comfortable lead over the RTX 3060, at least in this test. AMD is expected to launch the RX 6600 XT in the retail channel, on August 11, 2021.

AMD is allegedly preparing for an August 2021 debut of its Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics card in the retail segment, according to tech YouTuber Coreteks. Released exclusively as custom-design cards, through the company's AIB partners, the card will reportedly come with an MSRP price of USD $399, or roughly $100 less than that of the RX 6700 XT (which is being scalped for north of $800). The lack of a reference-design (MBA) model in the retail channel means that the card will not be sold through the AMD website.

The Radeon RX 6600 XT will reportedly be based on the 7 nm "Navi 23" silicon, although it remains to be seen if it maxes the silicon out. 8 GB will be the standard memory amount, across a 128-bit wide GDDR6 memory interface, cushioned by a 32 MB Infinity Cache. As for performance, Coreteks predicts that the RX 6600 XT will perform ±5% of the RX 5700 XT and the GTX 1080 Ti, which could make it a formidable card for AAA gaming at 1080p, or at 1440p with FSR.

AMD board partner PowerColor's website briefly showed product categories for graphics cards based on the upcoming Radeon RX 6600 XT and Radeon RX 6600 graphics processors. This would mean that a formal launch of the two is just around the corner. Both SKUs are reportedly based on the 7 nm "Navi 23" silicon. The RX 6600 XT maxes it out, featuring 2,048 stream processors, while the RX 6600 is slightly cut down, in featuring 1,792 of them. The "Navi 23" silcon is based on the same RDNA2 graphics architecture as the rest of the RX 6000 series, which means DirectX 12 Ultimate support, including raytracing. Both feature 8 GB of video memory, whereas the RX 6600 also comes in 4 GB. Both memory options use 16 Gbps GDDR6 memory, over a 128-bit wide memory bus. PowerColor is expected to design a variety of custom-design products based on the two.

AMD announced during CES 2021 that they would launch various new RDNA2 desktop and mobile products in 1H 2021 including dual and single fan Radeon graphics cards. The dual-fan variant turned out to be the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT which was launched in March but we are yet to see anything of the single-fan card until recently. This single-fan card is allegedly the RX 6600 XT and leaked renders of it align with what AMD showed during CES giving further validity to the leak. The render shows a black and silver design with red accents keeping with other RDNA2 cards and a single 8-pin power connector. The AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT is set to feature a Navi 23 GPU paired with 2048 Stream Processors paired with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory.
