I am sure they meant Battlefield 3
i got 3 machine.. gtx470/3650 APU/5870....only the 470 run normally with the nvidia beta driver...come on.... 3 attempt and still failed? please only release it after it was really ready......:shadedshu:(
Edit: using C2D E8400 and XFX 4890
1 Is the card overclocked? If so, put it back to stock
2 Try removing them with a driver cleaner and reinstalling
People are not generally reporting problems with them, so it's worth persevering.
I thought they took out that shitty usb driver?
Win7 w/ Preview 2
Win8 w/ Preview 2
Win8 w/ Preview 3
There's definitely a lot more screen tearing in Win8 than Win7, I have Vsync set to Smart, maybe it isn't working under Win8? GPU load according to AMD's system monitor seems to be pretty high so maybe I just need to lower my settings (5850 1GB). Haven't seen much difference between Preview 2 and Preview 3.
Under Win8 w/ Preview 2 I've noticed sometimes I have no mouse in Rage (menus or actual game), the easy fix is to quickly shift-tab in and out of the steam community (or whatever).
Installing Preview 3 under Win8 you definitely want to uncheck the USB filter driver as mentioned above unless you were wanting a peek at the new BSOD screen.
You may also want to run www.fraps.com. With vsync off, there's much less tearing as the framerate goes up over 200 fps or so. It's quite possible that Win8 is rendering much more slowly due to its unfinished state, so run Fraps on both OS's and compare.
The only game that i believe would benefit me right now with new drivers is RAGE, it lags terribly on my 6970. But since i already finished it i'm not very concerned about it.
Video card is at about 50% usage and it's a solid 60 fps. Only dips below that on big explosions directly in my face. Obviously, a very poorly optimized game. I don't think it should take but about 25% of the gpu to display those low res textures.
But what else is new. :(
