As we enter the year of the dragon according to the Chinese zodiac, we have a week full of new game releases to look forward to, although none of them are unfortunately dragon themed. This week's AAA release has a more caribbean theme and has been a long time coming. As for the remaining releases, we're looking at a dash of phobia, banishment, some insight, dwarves, colonisation and a dark town.

I have to ask is Skull and Bones, just Black Flag with a WOW spin?

Genuinely intrigued by Islands of Insight. Reminds me of Myst and The Talos Principle. I may also get Recolit, always up for a retro styled indie adventure!
Downloading both demos now :)

I hope DONTNOD learnt something from Vampyr and Banishers have more to offer than just a cool setting. As cool as that game felt, everything except was so barebones and repetitive.

I wish. You can't even swim in the water. You can't board ships. Going to land has a loading screen. Getting in your boat has a loading screen. Everything is a timing mini game. It's not a very good game for as long as it's been getting worked on. It has detail but it doesn't look very good.

If it was like black flag I think people would be much happier.
Hell they could've just added MP boat modes to an updated AC4 and I would've been happier. I'd love to have had CTF or TDM with the old AC4 boat mechanics.

There was an open beta thing this weekend, but I found the tutorial thing so annoying I quit. I KNOW HOW TO TURN LEFT AND RIGHT you don't have to make it immersive or whatever that was. So I don't know.

ZareekHe should have been honest and said GREED
And then he would be fired and sued for misconduct. It's not like he can say anything else, at least he didn't went into a long speech on how the game was very expensive to make and on and on, better a simple bullshit answer than a complicated bullshit answer.

Just vote with your wallet (as I see you're intending to do) and the price will drop fast enough. For my side, it can drop to whatever they want, I'm not buying into a live service micro transaction hell scape no matter how fun they try to make it sound.

Thanks for this. There is no way I will be buying this. Not even Black Flag level is insane for how long it's been.

How about own variant? :p But for the dragons, I'd better go TA:K or HoM&M legacy series (2-4).

Not to mention, that the water and other physics and mechanics is simply atrocious. I don't have the game itself. But I've just seen some bit of stream, and I'm glad I don't. The graphics is meh either. I can't get how they want to ask $70 for this garbage.

Colonize and Islands of Insight seems looking really nice though.

The non-ship gameplay, other than the MMO/crafting/mission gathering is non-existent and that's what is missing from this game. I actually enjoyed what's there, played the entire playtest but it's just not enough for a game over... say 40 bucks at most.

**Seems Ubisoft lowered the price from 70 to 60 dollars. Still to much.

I've been waiting for Banishers to come out. I'm well equipped with the latest games for now, but I'll definitely buy it once it's on sale, or when I'm done with my backlog. :)

Skull&Bones
10 years in development for a literal pile of garbage that had its open beta end right before it "released"

But seriously, will we ever get a new dragon game? Being the hardcore TES III Morrowind fan, I find TES V Skyrim lacking a lot of things, but loved that game because of dragons! Apart from playing around with wyverns in the ARK Survival Evolved, nothing came to mind in years. I guess the dragon symbolism won't play nicely with the woke goals demanded from the gaming industry.

I never looked at it that way, but I guess you have a point. The modern world tells you that you can be whoever you want to be, but dragons tell you that you can't.
