NVIDIA DLSS 3 Comes to More Games This Week

More than 600 games and applications feature RTX technologies, and each week new games integrating NVIDIA DLSS, NVIDIA Reflex and advanced ray-traced effects are released or announced, delivering the definitive PC experience for GeForce RTX players. This week, Industry Giant 4.0, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl all launch with day-one DLSS 3 support, LEGO Horizon Adventures is out now with DLSS 3, and Proton users can now use DLSS 3 Frame Generation on Linux to accelerate performance in Proton-compatible games.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl Launches November 20th with DLSS 3 & Reflex
GSC Game World's S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is a brand-new entry in the legendary series, enjoyed by millions of players worldwide. The unique combination of first-person shooter, immersive sim, and horror is back. With unprecedented scale, advanced graphics, freedom of choices, and the thickest atmosphere of a deadly adventure, it's going to be the ultimate S.T.A.L.K.E.R. experience.
Head into The Zone, an area of exclusion around the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant. Full of radiation, mutants, and anomalies, it keeps drawing adventurers from beyond the perimeter. Bounty hunters dwell deep into the Zone, driven by its treasures and mysteries. These people are known as stalkers. Take on the role of a lone stalker and explore a photorealistic seamless open world, in a 64-km² radioactive zone, with a variety of environments that reveal post-apocalyptic atmosphere from different angles. Make your way through the Zone to define your destiny as you choose your paths within a highly branching epic story.

When S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is released on November 20th, GeForce RTX 40 Series gamers can activate DLSS 3 with Frame Generation and Super Resolution from day-one, accelerating performance for the best possible experience.

At 4K, with every setting maxed, DLSS 3 with Frame Generation and Super Resolution multiplied S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl's frame rates on GeForce RTX 40 Series graphics cards by an average of 2.4X. GeForce RTX 4070 gamers leap from 30 FPS to 70 FPS, greatly increasing smoothness, game clarity, and animation fluidity, and as we go up the GPU stack the numbers only get higher. The GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER runs at 87 FPS, the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER hits 100 FPS, the GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER 112 FPS, and the world's fastest consumer gaming GPU, the GeForce RTX 4090, surpasses 120 FPS. At 2560x1440, a 2X multiplier enables 100 FPS-plus max setting gameplay on a wide variety of configurations, and up to 145 FPS on the most powerful systems. At 1920x1080, all GeForce RTX 40 Series desktop graphics cards can play well in excess of 60 FPS thanks to the power of DLSS 3 with Frame Generation and Super Resolution, which delivers a 1.9X average boost to frame rates at max settings.
On GeForce RTX 40 Series laptops, a 2X DLSS 3 multiplier at both 1920x1080 and 2560x1440 ensures many mobile battlestations can play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl maxed out, for the definitive experience on the go.
Additionally, GeForce gamers can activate NVIDIA Reflex in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. This game changing technology reduces system latency on GeForce graphics cards and laptops, so your actions occur quicker, making single-player titles more responsive and enjoyable.

In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, enabling Reflex with a few clicks sees system latency reduced by up to 45%, further improving the PC experience for GeForce gamers.

Since its debut in September 2020, NVIDIA Reflex has reduced system latency in over 130 games, and over 90% of GeForce gamers have enabled Reflex. 9 of the top 10 competitive shooters feature Reflex support, along with critically acclaimed co-op and single-player games. In 2023 alone, GeForce gamers played over 10 billion hours of their favorite titles with increased responsiveness thanks to Reflex's innovative system latency reducing technology.

Ahead of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl's November 20th release, we have launched our S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl GeForce Game Ready Driver today, getting your system ready for the game. Download and install the new Game Ready Driver from the Drivers tab of NVIDIA app or GeForce.com.

Proton Adds Support For DLSS Frame Generation
Valve's Proton is a compatibility layer that enables games made for Windows to also be played on Linux-based operating systems. Now, a new Proton Experimental build has been released, featuring changes from NVIDIA, enabling GeForce RTX 40 Series owners to multiply performance in games supporting DLSS Frame Generation.

Support for DLSS Super Resolution was introduced in 2022, and now GeForce RTX 40 Series owners can enjoy even faster performance in their favorite Proton-powered titles. Simply update to the new build and Frame Generation will instantly work when enabled via each game's settings. To download, open Steam and head to Settings --> Steam Play, select the new Experimental build in the drop down, and click OK.

If you prefer to wait for a non-Experimental build, keep an eye on Proton's changelog and release page to learn when the changes arrive on the main branch.

It looks very promising, I love these type of games, I just hope the RTX has been done right like with Metro Exodus - Enhanced Edition, the game still holds up so well.
