Recently tried to do a playthrough for Outer Worlds and played maybe about 20 hrs before dropping off. The gameplay is fun enough and some of the quests are fun but it couldn't hold my interest to completion. The crafting is extremely simple and honestly not sure why it's a part of the game, and I found it difficult to use any other form of combat except guns (melee and stealth being the other options). The companions are fun, though.

- Playing The Outer Worlds left me with little hope for The Outer Worlds 2.

Obsidian went from having janky games with really crunchy punchy stories and characters to having technically solid games with the blandest and most forgettable stories and characters and settings.

You'd be hard pressed to believe the same studio that made Fallout New Vegas, Tyranny, Alpha Protocol etc made The Outer Worlds and Avowed...

Yeah, Outer Worlds was not bad by any means, but it was definitely a game to be played just once. If you made it to the end you more or less had seen it all.
