This Week in Gaming (Week 51)

As we enter the second to last week of the year, we're entering one of the slowest periods of the year when it comes to new game releases. This week's major release is an Unreal Engine 5 first person shooter, of sorts. As for what else is coming out this month, there's a truly eclectic mix of games, ranging from being an engineer to building a penguin empire (yes, you read that correctly). Then we have yet another zombie survival game, a game where you get to play dictator and finally you have the chance to dive down the abyss old school style.

Railbreak / This week's major release / Friday 22 December
How do our heroes detox after a stressful week of surviving a zombie apocalypse? The stars of Dead Drop Studios' upcoming Outbreak: Shades of Horror, Lydia and Hank, enjoy an entertaining night out to test a hot new arcade game! What's better than slaughtering zombies day in and day out? Laying waste to bright pink ones with heavy artillery, of course!
The Enjenir / Monday 18 December
Put your engineering and problem solving skills to the test in this sandbox physics building game! Enjoy the freedom of completely gridless 3D sandbox building combined with hilarious ragdoll third person controls, offering a truly unique and hilarious "Enjeniring" experience!
United Penguin Kingdom: Huddle up / Tuesday 19 December
This free version of the United Penguin Kingdom covers the content from one year of in-game time. A city-building game where you build a penguin settlement and satisfy the various needs of your penguins while dealing with seals and killer whales.
Zombie Survival Game Online / Wednesday 20 December
Zombie Survival Game Online is an open-world, post-apocalyptic, looter shooter. We aim to deliver a survival community experience that will entertain for years to come, utilizing a heavy passion for the genre & the years spent honing our development skills. Can you survive? Craft your story today!
World Warfare & Economics / Thursday 21 December
Control any country in the world. Have their politics, economy, and military in your hands. Shape your own version of WW3, a global pandemic, or create a custom scenario. Explore up to 66 planets and conquer through war or diplomacy. Become the ultimate strategist in the universe!
Path of the Abyss / Friday 22 December
Path of the Abyss is a single-player, grid-based dungeon exploration RPG.
You explore dungeons expressed in black-and-white pen drawings with your freely customized character and aim for the deepest level.

The snow is melting here in Sweden too, as it's three degrees warm and raining today...

This was last week... -11 and proper winter.

Limited space (no pun intended) for screenshots.

I think this should be a course in elementary school, and you can't go to high school until you beat the game.

Glad they got the spelling correct ;)

lol true

Well about 1200km south of Stockholm and was -15C last month, but El Niño or Jetstream or something is messing with the weather. About +3 now and drizzle, this might be the first time I ever remember or seeing a green Christmas!!!

Usually, grass vanishes just after Halloween until May.

Plenty "green" christmasses here, not a new phenomena as such, but it might be as warm as 6 or 7 degrees on Tuesday, which is quite unusual.

It's the end of the year, so the fact that there even are some half decent releases is still quite impressive.
