Thermal Grizzly Introduces New 90° WireView Pro GPU

The 90° WireView Pro GPU offers the same functionality as the already available Pro variant. As the name implies, the 90° version changes the cable routing, as the 90° WireView Pro GPU acts as a right-angle adapter. This means that the 12VHPWR cable from the power supply is directed toward the case floor from the front of the GPU (when the GPU is installed horizontally).

As usual, the 90° WireView Pro GPU will be available in both "N" and "R" versions, allowing users to match the orientation of the GPU's 12VHPWR connector. Due to its design, the 90° WireView Pro GPU is not compatible with all GPU models and series. This is primarily due to the size of various cooler designs and the position of the 12VHPWR connector on the GPU's PCB.
More details on compatibility checks can be found on the product page.

Key Features of the 90° WireView Pro GPU:
  • OLED display
  • Real-time power measurement
  • Power consumption logging
  • New: Temperature sensors at the power connectors
  • New: External temperature sensors
  • New: Sensor pin detection
  • New: Alarm function
  • Downward cable routing toward the case floor
The OLED display of the 90° WireView Pro GPU can show the following information:
  • New: Connector temperature in degrees Celsius [°C]
  • New: Temperatures from optional external sensors in degrees Celsius [°C]
  • Current power draw in watts [W], voltage in volts [V], and current in amperes [A]
  • Minimum and maximum power draw in watts [W]
  • Average power draw over the last 60 seconds through the 12VHPWR cable [RAVG in W] and total energy consumption [E in Wh]
Vertical GPU Mounting and 90° WireView Pro GPU
The 90° WireView Pro GPU can be used with vertically mounted graphics cards. Depending on the selected variant, the power cable from the power supply unit is routed either toward the case's mainboard tray or toward the side panel:
  • If the "R" variant is required for a standard horizontal GPU installation, the power cable will be routed toward the side panel when the GPU is mounted vertically.
  • If the "R" variant is required for a standard horizontal GPU installation, the power cable will be routed toward the mainboard tray when the "N" variant of the 90° WireView Pro GPU is used for vertical mounting.
The display orientation of the OLED screen on the 90° WireView Pro GPU can be adjusted via the configuration menu. Refer to the flowchart available in the download section on the product page in the Thermal Grizzly Shop.

Someone knows where I could buy the same thermal sensor as in the picture?

Der8auer can try as much as he can but in the end there will always be someone with burnt out connector.

True. Also this adapter measures temp only at the GPU side - cable connectors were melting on both sides (AFAIR), so in theory if the cable to the PSU was plugged badly then this won't help.

A bit different type of plug but also 2-pin:

CEO of Thermal Grizzly (Roman “der8auer” Hartung) already stated in dedicated videos, that it is not an 100% insurance, they will just alarm you of high temps and/or high amps.
He made it clear, in case of an alarm, that without manual intervention these connectors can burn as well.
The issue lies in the inherent design flaw of the NVIDIA PCB Standard / Connector type (12VHPWR), which does not allow for load monitoring and current balancing on the 12 V wires.

Those gadgets are just band-aids for a penny-pinching Trillion dollar corp pushing a bad design on high margin products.

This thing adds another x1 multiplier on MFG (Multi-Flame Generation).

On the product page:
"Warning – Important Notice: Risk of Injury!
This heat can cause the PCB at the WireView connector to heat up to 60 degrees Celsius with an air-cooled graphics card.
In the case of a water-cooled card without airflow, the WireView PCB can heat up to 100 degrees Celsius! The WireView casing should not be touched during operation. After shutting down the system, allow the WireView to cool before handling."
