God of War Ragnarök is coming to PC

God of War Ragnarök will be coming to PC on September 19, 2024! Upscaling technology
Full integration with NVIDIA RTX Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS), AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), and Intel XeSS (Xe Super Sampling) will allow you to reach higher graphical settings and output resolutions.

Super ultra-widescreen support
Enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the Nine Realms in panoramic widescreen with 21:9 ultra-widescreen and 32:9 super ultra-widescreen support!

And no one was surprised. Now, if PlayStation stopped being so indescribably dumb with the PSN account insanity...
I literally cannot buy this in Latvia, thanks to aftereffects of morons at San Mateo doing the HellDivers 2 thing, same with Ghost of Tsushima and HD2 itself.

You could always sail the high seas, if they refuse to sell it to you.
Also, how is Latvia even affected by this? Are Sony stupid? Latvia is a first world country and a part of the EU.

I was all set to buy this, but the b$ PSN requirement on a single player games means I will be looking for an "alterntive" version without such restrictions..

Because it is Sony. They are stupid yes. Historically it has been so, they are not willing to fix it and pay local taxes.

Their support level and solving problem attitude... they are on ASUS level there.

LMAO Playstation said: "The French West Indies can f**** off" even though we've been getting EU games and consoles forever :D. Digital licensing is so stupid at times, they only look at the literal geolocalisation, without taking into account the specificities of overseas territory. There are a few movies that I literally cannot buy or stream from the island

Update: luckily Steam isn't dumb, and use a standard french account for the French overseas territories. So I can see the the game when logged in

Convenience of Steam/GoG and reasonable paycheck have mostly made me hang up the hat. I will probably just ignore the game...

While I could argue that we are hardly an actual first world country this crap affects all Baltics (it was allowed at first, but then they later removed us as well) and bunch of other European states.
I mean it goes on to funny stuff like you cannot buy it on Isle of Man, lol.

Sony is hell-bent on forcing PSN on customers no matter what. This game is single player. Why force PSN?

Next up, review bombing on Steam in Sept.

I was like you but Im back on a VPN and I am back to try before you buy at any form of reasonable doubt. There is far too much bs going on lately.

Well there are going to be other options and people will use them if they want to play the game without PSN.

PS4 game that will run well on a 4090 and be praised for it like it's an achievement.

Yep, this is accurate.
Sony will not give 2 poops though unless it hits them in the sales figures.

How could they complain about the dangers of Microsoft not bringing their first party titles to competing platforms unless they were thoroughly testing being shitty themselves?

I would not expect another Playstation game to launch on PC without PSN. Helldivers 2 taught them that setting expectations is important and letting people meander into PSN is just going to cause outrage. Best to just slap it on there on Day 1 rather than risk Steam okaying refunds because of a change down the road. Anybody mad because they can't play because of where they live and no PSN, well, blame the people who live in places where PSN exists and they just didn't want to log in. They're the ones that made Steam do refunds en masse (supposedly in solidarity with the very people they've now forced Sony into denying them games wholesale) and scared Sony with lots of chargebacks into forcing PSN onto everything not nailed down. Thus, setting expectations going forward for everyone. People in regions without PSN now know they won't be sold the game and people in regions with PSN now know they must log in to that service they probably already have a login for.

That's what Sony meant when they said they were still learning about PC gamers after they caved on Helldivers 2. But they're learning fast and they're probably leery of Steam now because of the HD2 experience as a whole. I'm betting they rush the Playstation PC Storefront out a couple years sooner than they originally intended.

This is what winning looks like, everybody. Hoo-ray.

What? This is stupid. Sony in entirely to blame here for their idiotic decisions.

Edit: Actually I wish they would show the same backbone and enforce the limitations they seem to enjoy on all their platforms. That would be very fun to watch.
