AI for the Enterprise
The evolution of workflows associated with data science and generative AI are becoming increasingly reliant on powerful CPU and GPU components. As datasets grow in size and complexity, AI professionals are having to balance workflow agility, time to insight, and expense efficiencies of cloud solutions, which are often cost-prohibitive at scale. Security and data governance are also concerns driving the need for more powerful compute in the hands of high value AI-focused employees.

Lenovo workstations excel at tasks such as AI data preparation, data cleansing, data visualization, model selection, model scoring, model training, and fine-tuning, which can occupy a significant portion of a data scientist's workflow. Large language models (LLMs) require powerful NVIDIA GPUs for training and tuning on owned data in the enterprise. The latest CPUs and AI-optimized NVIDIA GPUs feature throughout our ThinkStation and ThinkPad workstation portfolio, and NVIDIA AI Enterprise, an end-to-end software platform for production AI, allow organizations to work on their own data in a secure sandbox personal supercomputing environment. These renders with zero cables in them are a disservice to Lenovo Thinkstations as the cable management in those is usually on-point.

Does anyone know of Lenovo still makes the RTX workstation graphics cards? I got a Lenovo branded A6000 a while back, but haven't seen any for the newer cards except NVidia & PNY.

For some reason their P5 workstation with Sapphire Rapids doesn't have Intel VT-x properly enabled.
It is 'Enabled' in the BIOS but VMware keeps popping 'VT-x not supported on platform' warnings either loaded within Windows or from a boot drive.
and right now this moment I am still sitting in the office waiting for their support to call me back.

That's such a bummer for a $10k machine.
I hope they don't have the same problem in this P8 model.

I've seen many Platinum and Titanium models in Dell servers too. They're rarely ever reviewed properly but as a rule of thumb it's damn-near impossible to meet Titanium/Platinum efficiency levels by cutting corners and using cheap components.

If you buy a cheap POS, you'll get a cheap POS PSU in it too - whether that's Dell, HP, Lenovo, Supermicro or anyone else.

But that shouldnt be the case, as dell desktops are not cheap. And most of them are using reheated server parts for PSUs now.

Come'on... your paying a premium price for a unit like that. It always comes with a powerful and quality based PSU.

It's note like they are installing Sub Wattages PSU's in there which was a issue years ago with buying ATX cases and having their own PSU.

Yeah, I don't think Lenovo is known for using trash in their professional workstations, that is unless they want to start losing their government contracts.
